Eduardo Morales, INAOE: Robots de Servicio.
Wednesday 11:00 (tentative)
Invited presentations on topics in computer science, intended for computer science students and general public (in Spanish)
Eric Manuel Rosales Peña Alfaro, UPIICSA-IPN: Manipulación de brazos robóticos..
Presentations of the 1st Symposium on Mathematical Modeling and System Simulation.

Presentation Modalities
Accepted papers can be presented in one of the the three ways:
Orally, attending the conference in person.
As a poster, attending the conference in person to present the poster.
As a poster, without attending the conference in person. In this case, the poster is to be sent us in PDF format, and our staff will present the poster for you. This modality is only available for authors from outside Mexico City. Papers corresponding to this modality will be considered for subsequent publication in the same way as in other modalities.
Presentation modality will not affect the subsequent selection of papers for publication in the journal: papers presented in any modality will be equally considered for publication.
The topics of interest of CIC 2008 include, but are not limited by, the following:
Artificial Intelligence Theory
Artificial Intelligence Applications
Robotics
Formal Languages and Algorithms
|
Cryptography and Security
Software Engineering
Computer Networks and Distributed Systems
Scientific and High-Performance Computing
|
The topics of interest of SMMSS 2008 include all topics related to Mathematical Modeling and System Simulation.
Submission and Evaluation Procedure
Submissions are to report original research not published elsewhere and not submitted for review for another conference or journal.
Most of the papers presented at the conference will be published in a post-conference special issue of the journal Research on Computing Science. We expect to publish in the journal some 15 to 30 papers. Selection of the papers for this special issue will consist of three stages:
The authors are now requested to submit abstracts of their future papers. The abstracts will be evaluated, and acceptance will be notified for presentation of the paper at the conference, in one of the modalities: oral, poster presented in person, or poster sent without presenting it in person.
The works presented at the conference in any of these modalities (oral, poster presented in person, or poster sent without attending) will be evaluated, and acceptance will be notified to those authors who, based on this evaluation, will be invited to send a full paper for its further evaluation.
These full papers will be evaluated for publication in the journal; the papers judged inappropriate for publication basing on this evaluation, may be excluded. At that stage, the camera-ready version will be solicited. The authors will be notified of the format for the camera-ready papers (which is basically identical to the Springer LNCS format).
Language: Abstracts are preferred in English, and full papers will be evaluated and published only in English. However, oral talks and posters can be presented in English of Spanish.
Review: For the first step, an abstract is to be submitted. No specific size of the abstract is required; however, the contribution and novelty of the work is to be clear. The authors can also submit an extended abstract or a draft of a full paper (up to 12 pages, in PDF format) if they prefer so, while this is not required. This PDF extended or draft full-text submission will only be used for evaluation.
Double blind review: The PDF files must not contain the names of the authors or their affiliations, as well as must not contain any information that may reveal the identity of the authors.
Submission procedure: Abstracts and/or draft papers are to be submitted electronically via the web system:
Note for FireFox users: Some users reported that FireFox gives an error message at login complaining about security certificate for this site. If this happens, then please either accept a security exception (FireFox offers this as an option) or use Internet Explorer or another browser. If nothing helps, please send us your abstract by email.
Registration, publication in the journal (for the papers selected for publication), and attendance are free of charge.
Language
Talks and posters can be presented in Spanish (preferred) or English. However, abstracts (submissions) are preferred in English, and full papers will be evaluated and published only in English.
